Not every animal is meant to be tamed. Our sanctuary is a small, private, permanent home for wild horses, wolf dogs, and feral cats that require a different approach to care. We provide a trust-based, non-coercive environment, allowing our residents to live in a naturalistic setting with minimal human interference. We ensure they receive the essential daily care they need while fully respecting their boundaries and their wild nature.

About Us & Mission

Wind and Wild Horses, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt animal sanctuary located in Avon Park, Florida. Founded to provide a permanent, dignified refuge, our mission is to offer lifelong sanctuary, daily nutritional care, and protected natural habitats for wild horses, wolfdogs, and feral cats.

We operate under a lifetime, trust-based sanctuary model. We do not adopt out or rehome residents unless an extreme circumstance would dictate the need; every animal under our stewardship remains in our care for the entirety of their natural life with minimal human interference, honoring their natural behaviors and instincts. We have never had to rehome an animal at this time.
